87000 Felt Bearings

87000 series felt bearings are designed for applications where dirt exclusion and lubrication retention are critical factors. These bearings feature an extended inner race that matches the dimensions of the felt seal, allowing for a tight fit. The felt seal provides protection against contamination entering the bearing raceway, making the 87000 series commonly used in equipment like fractional horsepower motors, vacuum cleaners, small gear units, and electrical tools where a sealed bearing is required. The felt seal allows these bearings to be used in both high-speed and normal operating conditions. An alternative option is the 88000 series, which has the added advantage of a Buna N seal on both sides of the bearing, providing even greater protection against contamination compared to the felt seal.
