Cylindrical Roller Bearings

Cylindrical roller bearings are a versatile type of rolling bearing designed to handle high radial loads and operate at high speeds. They feature a simple structure with cylindrical rollers in linear contact with the raceways of the inner and outer rings, allowing them to support very high radial loads. Cylindrical roller bearings are available in single-row and double-row designs, with the latter offering high radial rigidity commonly used for precision machine tool main shafts. These bearings can be supplied with or without ribs on the rings to allow for axial movement or support some axial loads. Cages are typically used to prevent the rollers from contacting each other, though full-complement designs without cages maximize roller capacity for extremely high radial load capacity. Cylindrical roller bearings are well-suited for heavy-duty industrial applications requiring high radial load capacity and high-speed operation, such as crane sheaves, machine tool spindles, and other heavy machinery.
